Introduction
Nowadays, the growth of the food industries in every country is considered an important indicator of its development towards improving public health and ensuring food security. In this regard, Kowsar Agricultural Investment Company has recognized this significance and proceeded with the integration of three companies: Dizbad Broiler Breeder, Tous Poultry Breeders, and Mashhad Poultry and Livestock Feed. They have also established other poultry chain sectors. This corporation, with a proper understanding of the protein products market and an approach to improving the quality of poultry protein products, as well as providing healthy and hygienic products without antibiotics, has taken a significant step with the slogan "Mactoos, the taste of health, antibiotic-free, cut and processed, and offered to valued consumers." Dizbad Poultry Company (Northeast Chain) has set up farms for Arian, ancestors, and parent line poultry to achieve its goals of completing the protein product supply chain. They have also contracted with a slaughterhouse and a processing and packaging center for chicken. Furthermore, they are currently distributing their products through micro distribution section and Mactoos chain stores, as well as collaborating with top stores in the eastern region of the country for product distribution.
About Dizbad
The establishment of the farms of this company initially began in the year 1354 (1975) under a project commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture on a 320-hectare plot of land located in the lower Dizbad region, at kilometer 75 of the Mashhad-Nishabur road.
In 1975, the company initiated its initial project, including 16 broiler houses, a feed production factory, an industrial poultry slaughterhouse, and a cold storage facility. Before the Islamic Revolution, the facilities operated for broiler production, but after the revolution, they were transformed into broiler breeder farms. In 1986, the first broiler breeder flock was established. Later, in 1989, a chick hatchery factory with 8 sets of Sam Now incubators (similar to Iranian Jamesway incubators) was established, which was later replaced with foreign Jamesway incubators, model PT100.
Currently, the Dizbad Poultry Integration Company has become the largest chain for the production and supply of various one-day-old broiler chicks and other healthy and hygienic protein products in the eastern region of the country. It has the capacity to produce approximately 25,000 sets of commercial broiler breeders (GGP grandparent lines) in 10 breeding units, and around 200,000 sets of broiler breeders in 6 breeding units. Also, it operates two equipped chick hatcheries with a total capacity of about 32 million chicks per year and two feed production units with an annual capacity of approximately 100,000 tons of various livestock and poultry feeds. The company has created direct employment opportunities for 500 efficient, skilled, and specialized human resources and indirect employment for 50,000 individuals, making a significant contribution to the production cycle of various poultry products and services consumed by nearby residents and pilgrims visiting the sacred shrine of Imam Reza (AS). The establishment of the parent breeder farms and chick hatcheries was acquired through a formal auction by the Economic Organization of the country (Agricultural Deputy) in 1998. In December 2015, Kowsar Economic Organization, through the integration of management between Dizbad Poultry Company, Tous Poultry Breeders, and Mashhad Poultry and Livestock Feed, which had been actively present in the poultry industry for many years, aimed to enhance collaboration and create a suitable foundation for forming a complete chain of production and supply of protein products.
Chicken meat is popular among consumers worldwide due to its high nutritional value and reasonable price, with per capita consumption increasing in many countries, including ours, estimated at around 25 kilograms. Ensuring the quality of the produced chicken meat to meet consumer health demands has become increasingly important. In line with improving the structure of chicken meat production and industrializing poultry farms, Dizbad protein products supply chain has undertaken the following actions in recent years: 1. Utilizing modern technologies in poultry breeding facilities. 2. Upgrading hygiene and disease control systems. 3. Enhancing quarantine and biosecurity measures. 4. Implementing monitoring programs for flock health, including serology and bacteriology for disease control. 5. Improving the quality of consumed feed for poultry farms and avoiding harmful chemicals. 6. Eliminating the use of antibiotics and any harmful drugs for humans. 7. Improving the environmental conditions for healthier poultry breeding, including ventilation and humidity. 8. Utilizing state-of-the-art technologies in veterinary medicine and vaccination. 9. Using the Arian breed for broiler chick production.
